Victoria Beckham Beauty – First Launch

I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear that the undeniable Queen of effortless style and elegance was finally launching her own beauty collection. I know some of you will say, well it’s nothing new because she had a collaboration with Estee Lauder, but that’s not the same, for one It wasn’t Cruelty Free like this one. This has been made with Clean Beauty at the forefront and throughout the whole process, it’s dermatologically tested, gluten free, soy free, Hypoallergenic, Safe for sensitive skin and let’s not forget the Sustainable and Ethical Packaging that is just to die for!

We also have to talk about the very clever marketing behind this whole campaign, releasing each part of the collection bit by bit. It keeps it fresh and exciting. I love how they have kept the collection contained in this way. You find now that so many brands want to just throw everything at you, all at the same time, and before you know it your swamped not knowing what to buy, and instead  of lots of options you just have dozens of duplicates in different packaging. Thankfully that’s no the case here.

The Eye Collection.

The first product I want to talk about is the Smoky Eye Brick, There are four of these in the collection. The names and colours are all based around fabrics, if you listen to Victoria talk about designing them you can hear the joy in her voice when she describes coming up with the names, describing the process.

They are Quad’s in a mix of Satin Matt shadows all based around Victoria’s signature smoky eye look. The palette itself is made from brass and is finished in a gorgeous tortoiseshell design, very chic. It also has a very satisfying closure, one that clicks firmly just to let you know it’s firmly shut.

The Brick I’ve bought is Signature, a beautiful everyday palette that can then be used to dress the eye up for an evening look with its mix of smoky browns and peach tones.

I love that you get a larger base shade, let’s be honest it’s the one we always run out of first and can never replace. This palette has been well thought out, the shades your going to use the most are in the bigger pans and the darkest shade is in the smallest. I think this is the first time I’ve had a palette quite like this.

The formula of the shadows is soft, light and full bodied when it touches the lid. You can use your fingers or a brush, they both work equally well, the pigment is incredible and the powder is so smooth it doesn’t settle into any fine lines you might have.. Blending the deeper tones into a smoky look is just a dream. This palette is perfect for someone who is not confident in application because there’s no hard work or effort required. If I had every palette I would probably just wear these daily, they are that beautiful to use!

The colours in this palette are :

Cami which is a neutral beige

Slip which is a peach pink

Saddle which is a deep brown

Suede which is a medium taupe

Each Quad is 8.5g / 0.3 oz and costs £48.

There are three other Quads in the collection

Tuxedo which has stunning Charcoal Hues

Royal which has beautiful rich navy and cobalt hues

Tweed which features gorgeous rich terracotta and plum tones

Lid Lustre is also part of the Eye collection and this is probably the item I was most excited about. They are said to be inspired by the healing power of crystals, which Victoria uses a lot in her Everyday life. In fact every one of these has a different crystal infused within it to bring positive benefits to your Aura and energy whilst wearing it. The first thing to note is that this is NOT a glitter, it’s actually a soft pressed powder, with over 60% pearlescent pigments, which is what makes it glow so beautifully on the skin.

Each pot comes with a little disc inside to keep the pigment pressed tightly in place so you don’t lose any of the performance, it’s recommended that you keep this in place. These are all dermatologically tested, Opthamologist tested, Safe for contact lens wearers, Vegan, Gluten free and also Soy free.

This collection also comes in four shades, Onyx, Blonde, Mink and Midnight. They are all equally as beautiful and trust me at some point I will own them all, but for now I’ve started with Blonde, I thought I’d probably get the most use out of this over the Festive period.

Blonde is a stunning pale cream shade with flecks of yellow gold running through it and little sparkles of citrine crystal just peeping through. It’s funny to learn that citrine is said to inspire creativity and self expression, that’s so me, but I had no clue when I picked it!

I don’t even know where to start with this one, the application is just a dream. You can just dust a light coat across your lid and you get the most beautiful glimmer as the light hits your face. You can add just a touch to your inner corner, and the lift to your eye is just stunning. This is the grown up kind of glitter, the one you see on models or on catwalks and think “Oh I love that look, how do I get that?” This is how!

I can see me using this all through the Christmas season and well after that, I love that I can make it look really natural and elegant, or just take up a notch and really go for it.

If you are looking for an incredible pigment with all the shimmer without the glitter then this is for you and If your not super confident or you just don’t like spending a lot of time messing around with difficult pigments then again i’d say this is for you too.

I will definitely be investing in the other shades very soon, you get 5g / 0.17 oz for £28 and judging by how little you use this is going to last a long time.
