Extreme E & Lewis Hamilton’s Team X44 Promote further awareness of the climate crisis

Six-Time Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton today announced the launch of his very own E Race Team called X44, which will debut in Extreme E, the brand new ground breaking electric off-road racing series which begins in January 2021.

Lewis’s team is named in reference to his long standing racing number which he’s carried throughout his racing career.

X44 will enter Season 1 of the Extreme E Championship, with its first X Prix race scheduled to take place in early 2021 in Lac Rose,Dakar, Senegal.

As one of the most successful racing drivers of all time, and having taken over management of his own career since late 2014 / early 2015, Lewis will use his knowledge and winning mentality to develop his own team in this new E Motorsport.

X44 and its Extreme E competitors will race all electric vehicles in five amazing remote locations around the world including; arctic, desert, rainforest, glacier, and coastal locations during the first season which are either already damaged or severely under threat of climate change from a range of serious issues including melting ice caps, deforestation, desertification and rising sea levels.
