Skin 47- Anti Blemish & Scar Repair
I’ve been working with 47Skin for nearly 12 months now. I don’t have to tell you just how much I love this brand and I certainly don’t have to tell you all the reasons why I do, But I will! They’re cruelty free which is a must for me, they’re a small independent UK brand with a big sustainable heart. All their products come in Glass jars, which of course are recyclable and are also refillable. They have very little plastic in their products and what plastic they do have they’re currently trying to source Ocean Plastic instead. OK lets start talking about the products….
I wanted to try out the Anti Blemish and Scar Repair Treatment mask and Serum on my Daughter. She is 21 now but since she was about 14 she’s suffered from pretty bad Hormonal Acne. We have tried everything, been back and forward to the GP to see if we can get help, but nothing has worked. It’s been a massive struggle for her and now the scarring is pretty bad in some places. The worst part has been the knock in her confidence, as a Mum its the toughest thing to watch when all I want to do is help. This is why I decided to try this Mask and Serum out. I have tested lots of other 47Skin skincare previously so I wasn’t worried about putting it on her at all.
The Serum comes in a 30ml Glass Bottle with a pump dispenser and costs £29. You apply it morning and night during your usual skincare routine and it is said to help with inflammation, reduce scars, prevent breakouts all through the incredible patented ‘Formula 47’ which contains the amazing formulation Silver and Chitosan. “The formulation works by utilizing the silver to form a protective and hydrating seal on the skin whilst the chitosan forms a lattice like structure on which the cells can repair”. The serum is a really nice consistency, not too runny, spreads really nicely across the face and dries down to a soft matte finish. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tacky or sticky like some of these serums do. I’ve found ( because obviously I had too try it too!) that it’s best applied before your moisturizer after your toner. Its definitely had an effect on my Sun spots and Lupus Scarring and I’ve only had it a few weeks so I am going to test it on myself for a few more and then I will give you some more thoughts….
The main Ingredients : Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylic/Capric Tryglyceride, Dime Silvthicone, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearly Alcohol, Ceteareth-20,er/Chitosan complex (Poly-D-Glucosamine, silver, lactic acid). Less than 1% – Triethanolomine, Phenoxyethanol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) butter, Ethylheylglycerin, Allantoin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus (Tangerina) Peel Oil.
The mask comes in a 60ml Jar and costs £57. The mask itself is just applied to clean, DRY skin like most, you then leave it for 25-30 minutes and either peel it off or gently wash it off with warm water. I have found that a little goes a long way so although it seems like a pretty expensive mask I think it will last quite a while.
The main ingredients are Water, Silver/Chitosan complex (Poly-D-Glucosamine, silver, lactic acid) PEG-8, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Phenoxyethanol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil. which are all of course perfect for sensitive skin types.
I took some photos at the beginning of the trial so we could keep a visual diary of Laura’s journey. We’ve been using the Mask/Serum combination now for nearly a month as a twice weekly treatment and it seems to be working a treat, Laura’s skin has never looked to healthy. The Scarring is actually beginning to heal, the redness is no longer fully noticeable and Laura’s overall skin condition is looking healthy and glowing. This is also massively important because Laura’s job requires her NOT to wear much Makeup, if any at all. Just by using this routine she can now get away with just a little bit concealer as and where it’s needed.
I would say the most important thing in all of this is Laura’s confidence. Using these products has massively changed how she feels and sees herself. Seeing her not worry about whether people are looking at her or if she’s managed to cover up the scarring is more than I could ever have asked for, or expected when we first started using them.
I would highly recommend this product for anyone in a similar position to Laura, if you have Old OR New Scars, Pigmentation, Sun Spots or even small areas of Discoloration then I think you would really benefit from trying these products.
